WHAT IS CAPTURE BEYOND ACADEMY?
The Academy brings the experience and personal interaction of a Capture Beyond workshop into a live online environment.
Over five weeks, you'll work alongside a small group of photographers, exploring composition, technique, light, colour, editing and the development of your own photographic style.
This isn't a pre-recorded course. Each session is taught live by Anthony and combines teaching, demonstrations, image critique and discussion, supported by a practical assignment between sessions.
THE FIVE WEEK JOURNEY
01 - SEE
The Art of Minimalism
Learn to simplify compositions, use negative space and create stronger visual balance. Through Anthony's own photographs, compositional overlays, before-and-after examples and fine-art references, discover how subject placement, visual hierarchy, balance and location research can transform the way you see and approach a subject.
02 - CAPTURE
From Location to Photograph
Learn how to translate what you see into a considered photograph. Explore camera settings, lens choice, subject isolation and perspective, alongside long exposure and filters to simplify a scene and create mood, movement and atmosphere.
03 - EDIT
From RAW to Refined Image
Follow Anthony's editing workflow from the initial RAW file through Camera Raw and Photoshop. Explore exposure and tonal adjustments, masking, distraction removal, layers, local adjustments and the subtle refinements used to build depth, balance and clarity within an image.
04 - FEEL
Colour, Tone & the Finished Image
Learn how Anthony uses HSL and Colour Balance to develop harmonious and restricted colour palettes and create his distinctive pastel aesthetic. Explore techniques for black & white conversion, sepia toning, final sharpening and preparing the finished photograph for presentation.
05 - DEFINE
Finding Your Photographic Voice
Understand your own visual preferences, build consistency through cohesion and begin developing a recognisable photographic style.
Final portfolio critique using photographs created during the Academy. Each participant selects 2 - 3 images representing what they've learned.

ABOUT ANTHONY LAMB
LEARN DIRECTLY FROM ANTHONY
Anthony Lamb is an award-winning British fine-art photographer and Fujifilm X-Photographer whose minimalist landscape work has received more than 50 international awards and is represented by galleries worldwide.
Early travels to the European Alps, North Africa, and the Scottish Highlands sparked a deep connection to remote, uninhabited landscapes and a fascination with solitude. Influenced by minimalist art and design, he began photographing in 2003, using a refined, understated approach to capture the essence of the natural world.

The Academy is designed for enthusiastic photographers who want to move beyond simply making technically strong photographs and begin creating images with greater intention, simplicity and individuality.
You don't need to already be a minimalist photographer. The programme is suitable for all levels of photographer with a good working knowledge of their camera who want to develop their composition, editing and creative vision. EARLY 2027
The first Capture Beyond Academy will take place in early 2027, with five live online sessions held weekly over five weeks. Sessions will take place on Sundays and last approximately two hours, scheduled to accommodate photographers across the UK, Europe, North America and the Middle East.
