INTRODUCTION

Immerse yourself in the quiet of Venice in January, when the city reveals its most intimate, serene self. Over four days, you’ll capture the essence of this remarkable place and stay in the comfort of a luxurious four-star hotel perfectly located on the Grand Canal, allowing central access to all the hotspots. Guided by Anthony, an experienced fine art photographer, you’ll wander through Venice's tranquil canals and lesser-known streets, focusing on composition techniques to elevate your portfolio. Each location has been handpicked to inspire creativity, offering unparalleled views of the city’s iconic architecture framed by misty mornings and winter soft light. This journey is about more than just photographs; it’s an unforgettable experience where you’ll hone your skills, capture timeless images, and see Venice through Anthony's eyes.

OVERVIEW

Day 1 (19th Jan) Flight to Marco Polo Airport arriving before 14.00 on the 19th January this will then allow you the time to make your way to the hotel via the Airport Water Bus (Linea Arancio - orange line), which is very close to S.Angelo stop. You'll settle into your hotel room before we head out for the first sunset shoot at two iconic locations.

Day 2 (20th Jan) We will rise early to miss the crowds, and will journey through this captivating city on foot, capturing scenes in and around Piazza San Marco. After a hearty breakfast back at the hotel, the group will visit specific locations in and around Basilica Santa Maria della Salute. After lunch we'll head back to the hotel to relax, and in the late afternoon, people within the group will have the chance to explore the streets and inner canals surrounding the hotel prior or after the evening meal.

Day 3 (21st Jan) A big day, so a hearty breakfast first thing! Then we head to the island of Burrano via ferry and prior to catching the ferry, we will have an hour to shoot the Venetian Lagoon overlooking Isola di San Michele. We will spend most of the day exploring the island including the iconic painted houses, and those who fancy exploring further, after lunch, we can cross the bridge to Mazzorbo. There will be a lot of walking on this day, but plenty of time to relax as well. Anthony will present a selection work and discuss techniques in the evening.

Day 4 (22nd Jan) On this day, we will be travelling to the neighbouring island of The Lido. Weather conditions will certainly dictated the subjects we select, but there's plenty of opportunities on the island including long sandy beaches, minimalist seascapes or old characterful buildings.

Day 5 (23rd Jan) The last full day will be a mix of morning photography around select locations in Venice and a edit masterclass in the afternoon where Anthony will take you through an in depth look at editing styles, processing, sharpening techniques and more. We will also have the chance to see some of the photographs you have captured during the trip, and edit some of the images using some of the techniques Anthony has shared.

Departure (24th Jan) For those who are interested, we will have the opportunity to grab one final sunrise prior to departure. Departing the hotel prior to 12.00pm, unless your flight is earlier.
